Crestwood was first known as Beards Station in the mid 1800’s during the early days of the railroad. It became a popular destination spot for camping! While the railroad was being built ,Crestwood became an important stop between Frankfort and Louisville. If you take a drive through historic Downtown you can see many historic homes, buildings and the historic Waldeck Mansion on Highway 22. Now Crestwood is a popular area for families and local businesses that like the convenience of Louisville but want a more country atmosphere.
